Sheet Music for Flageolet

Auguste F. Devisien (ca. 1810) Grand Duo concertant op. 6 Nr. 3 für zwei Sopranblockflöten (zwei Flageolets)

Auguste F. Devisien (ca. 1810)

Grand Duo concertant op. 6 no. 3

for two flageolets (two soprano/descant recorders)

Aura-Edition AE 015-FB, score & two parts, € 21,00

Original concertante duet from the French early romantic period in the original key. The virtuosic piece is very imitative, making it possible to reliably reconstruct, or amend, the lost second part. Auguste F. Devisien belonged to the trendsetters of the young flageolet movement around 1800. None of his ambitious works has so far been available in a modern edition. The quality of his music is all the more surprising: this duo was set perfectly, both from the point of view of finger technique, as well as sound-wise, and offers a good insight into the musical possibilities of recorder-like instruments of the early romantic period.

Reprint

Aura-Edition AE 004-FB, playing score, € 17,00

These duos from 1811, originally scored for two flageolets, are very well suited to two soprano/descant recorders. This is their first modern reprint. Composed in the classical-romantic style these pieces present an elegant example of the cantabile and virtuoso elements of this repertoire.
